Rejas, a U.S. Army veteran with over 20 years of leadership experience in both military and federal service, including the USDA, Aflac, and the Defense Logistics Agency, brings a deep commitment to purpose-driven leadership and community engagement.
“It is an absolute honor to stand before you today as the newly appointed Commander of JE Lanier Post 27 here in Richmond Hill,” Rejas said during her remarks. “I'm both humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve such a dedicated and purpose-driven group of veterans, families, and community members.”
In her speech, Rejas laid out her three top priorities: the team, the four pillars of the American Legion, and open, honest communication. “The members are the heartbeat of this Post. Every event, every act of service, begins and ends with us working together,” she noted.
Rejas also reaffirmed her commitment to the Legion’s core pillars, Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth, calling them “not just guidelines, but our shared mission.”
Communication, she added, will be key to the Post’s continued success. “You’ll hear from me, and I want to hear from you. We’ll build transparency, trust, and a flow of ideas that helps us grow stronger together.”
This year marks a particularly meaningful milestone for the Post. In December 2025, JE Lanier Post 27 will proudly celebrate 27 years of supporting veterans and their families in the Richmond Hill area. The milestone will be commemorated with events and reflections on the Post’s enduring legacy and service.
As Commander Rejas concluded, she left members with a message of unity and forward momentum: “I’m ready to listen, lead, and learn—right alongside each of you. Let’s make this next chapter for Post 27 not only impactful, but unforgettable.”
